Tiwa Savage Wins 'Best African Act' At The 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards

Tiwa Savage has been an amazing force in the music industry since she first broke out. Year after year, she levels up, reaching new and amazing heights — this year has been no different, crowned by her 'Best African Act' win at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Last night, Tiwa Savage made history, beating out stars like Shekhinah, Davido and Fally Ipupa to become the first-ever woman to win the 'Best African Act' award, once again proving she truly is the 'number one African bad girl'.

The star took to Instagram to dedicate the award to fellow African women, a move which seemed a bit disingenuous since she regularly denounces feminism — saying she believes in the domestic subjugation of women — and hardly works with her female counterparts in the industry.

Still, we are very happy to see Tiwa Savage take this prize home, as she was completely deserving. Other winners of the night include, Cardi B for 'Best New Artist', Nicki Minaj for 'Best Hip Hop', Panic! At The Disco, for 'Best Alternative' and Dua Lipa for 'Best Pop'.
